something Rick - my brother wrote on the election

Our hope needs to be in Jesus and He is still in control. I, like many of you who believe in freedom and want to preserve life, are disappointed in the outcome. We will lose our freedoms, there is no doubt, history has already shown us this. Babies will continue to be murdered for convenience. The economy may recover, it may not. The war might end or there might be new wars. We must continue on, to live is Christ to die is gain. How much more glory is there in heaven, this earth is only temporarily. Those who know Christ have true hope and have experienced true change. Today the disappointment begins for those that voted for Obama. It will not rain money or gas. They will still be sick and will hurt. Their love ones will still die. There will still be poor and there will still be homeless. There are many who will go to bed hungry. They will still be looking for an answer in the things that drive them the furtherest away from what their heart cries out for. Most importantly they will live a life seeking a messiah that has already come and died for their sins. He has opened his arms and promised that you will not thirst again. He has promised the bread of life to those who are hungry. He has promised a mortgage free home to those he will return for. Lets not forgot that He is in control and our time here is short, lets use it to the fullest.

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day" - 2 Corinthians 4:16

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up - Galatians 6:9

Therefore, since God in his mercy has given us this new way,we never give up - 2 Corinthians 4:1

Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.
So we will not fear when earthquakes come
and the mountains crumble into the sea.
Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!
A river brings joy to the city of our God,
the sacred home of the Most High.
God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed.
From the very break of day, God will protect it.
The nations are in chaos,
and their kingdoms crumble!
God’s voice thunders,
and the earth melts!
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us;
the God of Israel is our fortress.
Come, see the glorious works of the Lord:
See how he brings destruction upon the world.
He causes wars to end throughout the earth.
He breaks the bow and snaps the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
“Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.”
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us;
the God of Israel is our fortress.
