Sherwood Christian Academy
Seed: Region 3, No. 2.
Record: 18-5.

Opponent: Region 2,
No. 3 Memorial Day.

When/Where: 4 p.m. today, Brewton-Parker College.
What: First round of state playoffs.
Game analysis: This will be the ultimate contrast in styles. Memorial Day, which was the top seed in Region 2 before being upset in the first round, utilizes three speedy guards and doesn’t have a major contributor more than six-foot tall. Whereas SCA will bring Cameron Williams and his 24 points and 14 rebounds a game to the party.
X-FACTOR: Wesley Pittman. Memorial Day makes a living with full-court pressure. Pittman, SCA’s point guard, will be given the task of controlling the ball and not allowing Memorial to force turnovers.
COACH SAYS:Sherwood’s Matt Ruta — “They are very capable. If we handle the pressure, don’t turn the ball over and stop dribble penetration, we should be good. If they can pressure us and we turn ball over and we let them dribble around, it could be a long night.”
If win: Will play the winner of Region 4 No. 1 Arlington Christian and Region 1 No. 4 Monsignor Donovan.
