PREP ROUNDUP: Sherwood girls earn second region win against Windsor, boys roll as well The Lady Eagles earn their second region win of the year, both of them coming against Windsor Academy

MACON — The Sherwood Christian girls basketball team defeated Windsor, 35-29, on Tuesday night. A 14-9 third quarter was the difference as Emilee Cook led the Lady Eagles with 14 points, followed by Princess Williams with 13.
“We executed a game plan almst to perfection, 11-of-12 at the free-throw line,” said SCA coach Rebecca Fyock. “We just played a really good box-and-1 defense on their point guard, who had a decent amount of points. That frazzled them.”
Sherwood (6-12 overall, 2-5 GISA Region 3-AA) hosts Valwood at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
SHERWOOD Boys 77, WINDSOR 36:
A 21-2 third quarter put the Sherwood Knights’ latest win out of reach on Tuesday. Sherwood Christian moved to 15-4 overall and 4-1 in GISA Region 3-AA behind 18 points from Wesley Pittman and 16 from Dequan Green.
Brannan Anthony also added 14 points for the Eagles. Sherwood next plays at home against Valwood on Friday at 8 p.m.
